Re-thatching the cottage

In 2008, Nigel and Denise Barratt commissioned Monsieur et Madame Lelievre to re-thatch La Terrierre back to its former glory. The repair and remedial work to the cottage took under a month. The thatched roof has great insulating properties, hence the cottage stays cooler in Summer and retains the heat in Winter. The roof is environmentally friendly and in almost inexhaustible supply—the only downsides are the usage of energy in harvesting and transportation.
